Creamsicle Cocktail & Eggs on Pizza at Pizzeria Libretto

Seeing that this is my 4th post on Pizzeria Libretto (2nd for the Danforth location) it is obvious that I love the restaurant. I don't blog about each and every one of my visits at Libretto (Twitter: @PizzaLibretto / @pldanforth, Facebook: Pizzeria Libretto) but this particular one at the Danforth location deserves some love + attention.  Rocco's Salad and both pizzas were as always top-notch but what made this meal extra special was the creamsicle cocktail and the addition of two eggs on our Nduja Sausage pizza!

Creamsicle Aranciata (2oz, $11)
Vanilla bean infused Tag vodka, triple sec, vanilla gelato, aranciata

Negroni Sfocato (4oz, $10)
Gin, aperol, gragnano

Rocco's Salad ($12)
Crispy egg, butternut squash, heirloom beets, pine nuts, pingue prosciutto, ricotta salata

Nduja Sausage ($17)
Tomato, garlic, oregano, basil, mozzarella, stracciatella

Cremini Mushroom ($17)
Bufala mozzarella , gorgonzola, roasted garlic , rosemary, thyme, pecorino

The Creamsicle Aranciata genuinely tastes like orange Creamsicle. Cold and fizzy with a scoop of creamy vanilla gelato, the cocktail is extremely refreshing and delicious. Because it's on the sweeter side, you can actually enjoy it as a dessert cocktail as well. As for adding eggs on our pizza? Best decision ever. Added to the pizza before going into the oven, the two baked eggs have runny yolks that oozes out. The combination of the egg yolk and spicy nduja is just so...comforting. Think breakfast...eggs and sausage...on a piece of oven-baked dough. It totally makes sense so don't fight it :)
